Lost Boys, The (1987)
The Lost Boys Starts out with
Mike, his brother Sam and
mother are driving to their new home in Santa
Carla. Everywhere they go, they see all kinds of crazy-looking people. When they
arrive at their new house with their grandpa and get re-acquainted with him,
they begin to think that he's probably up there on the list with the other
oddballs in the town.
Later that night, Mike and Sam wander off to the beach where a party is being
held. While they are there, Mike is seduced by a strange girl
whose name is Star and chases after
her. Suddenly, a group of pale, goth
guys come up, led by David, orders
Star to come with
him. David challenges Mike to a race, and the race ends up at a cliff near
the group's hangout. Mike goes with the group to
their cave/hangout and is
offered a drink which he thinks is red wine, but is really blood.

In the meantime, Sam has ditched his older brother and goes into a comic book
store, where he meets Edgar and Alan Frog - better known as The Frog Brothers.
They shove a comic book called "Vampires Everywhere!" into the hands of Sam,
who's not into horror comics. The Frogs insist that he take it as a survival
guide. Then the scene shifts to Mike &
Sam's mom, who's walking along the
boardwalk, where she runs into Max, a video store owner who gives her a job and
with whom she becomes a little bit more than friends.
The next day when Sam is taking a bath,
Mike hears him from downstairs, and his thirst for blood is overpowering. He
creeps up the staircase slowly. Luckily for both of them, their dog Nanook saves
Sam by leaping and slashing at Mike, sending him tumbling down the stairs. Sam
quickly gets his robe and rushes down the stairs. As Mike gets up, clutching his
wounded arm, Sam peers into the mirror and doesn't see Mike's reflection. That
is when he realizes that his brother is a bloodsucker. After Mike gets a hold of
him and explains what happened, Sam knows that his older brother is a only a
"half" vampire. Sam then seeks the help of the Frog Brothers, as they go on a
wild hunt to find the head vampire and kill him. Once the leader is killed, all
of the half-vampires return to normal.
