The Vampire Darla

The Vampire Darla was sired by the Master, commander of the Order of Aurelius in the Virginia Colony in 1609, .  The Master found the young saucy and intelligent prostitute dying of syphilis.

She was not born "Darla", The Master gave her that name shortly after her Siring.  It was noted that the name "Darla" is Anglo-Saxon for "beloved" or "precious. Darla was creative, intelligent, cold and precise, a deadly killer with a sharp wit and sharper tongue.  In the tradition of most vampires, she kills without qualms or second thought and she does it very well.

She came, with her beloved Master to Sunnydale, in 1997, where she was staked by Angel, who was protecting the slayer, Buffy.

She was brought back from Hell as a "human" by Wolfram and Hart in 2000, in their continuing campaign of driving Angel nuts, but she was brought back still suffering from syphilis and dying.   Wolfram and Hart had her re-sired by Drusilla.  Darla returns to her "normal" evil vampiric ways and after fighting with Angel again goes on her way.

Forward: months later she discovers she is pregnant with Angel's baby. She tries to end her pregnancy when her unborn's child's soul begins to influence her, she visits Shamans, Witches and other super natural beings, to no avail.  She decides to return LA and Angel for help with the birth of their child. Near the end of her pregnancy the child's influence makes Darla realize she does love her child.  But she also realized that once he is born she will return to her soulless natural instincts as a vampire killing machine.  She knows she will kill her child, as this is her nature, she also realized that as an undead vampire she could not give birth to her child.  She feared him dying, and to prove her love for him, she staked herself sacrificing her life and as she dusted her son was left behind healthy.

Later on her spirit appears to talk to her son on the verge of the birth of his daughter.
